Answering LONG Application Questions
Job application nitty gritty👇
If there are short answer questions on your application (think back to school exams) and you are asked to write 200 words on:
❓What specific experience you have leading large events
❓Your experience managing people
❓Or if you like cilantro (okay, I’ve never actually seen that question, but since my clients have experienced interview questions of, “If you were an animal, what animal would it be”, this is not so far off)
Know that they actually care what your answers are. They are going to read them!
⭐️ So, here’s what you need to do:
1. Think about the role and the company before answering and make sure that you are hitting on the points that are most meaningful to them.
2. Don’t retype the question as the lead in your answer. You have limited space. Make every word count. ‼️
3. Copy editing secret... Write it, then go back and get rid of all the unnecessary words. (obviously not implemented with this post)
4. Think rocky road, or mint chocolate chip, or New York super fudge chunk, not vanilla. You want to STAND OUT, show your personality, and why you are totally awesome for this position.
Not the same as everyone else. (Apologies to vanilla ice cream lovers) 🍦
