What to do After Someone Refers You for a Job

What to do After Someone Refers You for a Job

➡️It happened!

🙌You received a FANTASTIC referral from someone who ACTUALLY knows you!

They made the introduction AND sang your praises!!!🙌

The ACTUAL decision maker in the company reached out to you DIRECTLY and asked you to send them your resume. 🤩

✅You are super excited because it's an AMAZING job at a GREAT company, where all your boxes will be checked.

👉Here's what you need to do ➡️right ➡️this ➡️minute

🙏Thank the person who recommended you IN the group message, so that the person at the company SEES an insight into your character and personal brand.

📞You can certainly contact the person who made the introduction privately IN ADDITION to the group message to thank them. And I recommend that you do. Maybe with homemade chocolate chip cookies or muffins. 🍪🍪Just saying... But don't forget the group thank you.

📨Message the person from the company IMMEDIATELY. Like ➡️right ➡️now
✅If they asked for your resume, send it ➡️right ➡️away

🧠Understand that your personal connection is putting their reputation on the line by introducing you.
➡️You certainly don't want to take 3 days to respond.

😁It also shows your excitement about the position, ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and understanding that it is a big deal to get the personal recommendation and avoid being put in the same pile with 100s of other applications

➡️When given a leg up, please prioritize it. Respect the person who made the introduction. They will look poorly if they made the recommendation and it takes you days to respond.

✅And quite commonly, the inside recommendation will result in an interview and often an offer. 😉

❤ Cindy
