STOP Saying This!!

📣 Mind your Ps and Qs. No communication should start with the apology of:

“I don’t want to bother you, but…”

That BUT says you KNOW you shouldn’t but are going to do it ANYWAY (maybe you are reaching out to someone in the evening or weekend, and know you should respect their boundaries, but want. an. answer. NOW.

You aren’t making a great impression AND you showcase your own lack of respect for the other person’s time.

Start with these statements:

🎯I value and appreciate your expertise

🎯Thank you for taking the time to answer my question

🎯Even a simple “please”, “thank you” and “I appreciate you” is better than making a statement that your needs are more important than the other person’s time.

When looking for a job, remember that YOU are your brand. Every interaction showcases your values, your communication, and your interpersonal skills. Take a step back. Pause. Think about how your message will be received before hitting send.❣️
