How to Set Yourself Up For Success
đď¸ Top 5 things jobseekers should be doing that have nothing to do with your resume, cover letter, networking, or interviewingâŚ
1. Create time.
Something has to give. In order to make time for an effective job search, without sacrificing your soul, eliminate responsibilities that no longer serve you, cut down on scrolling, start a weekly meal prep, set boundaries, and stop washing the floor and doing laundry every single day.
2. Stay organized.
Tackle your emails- delete, unsubscribe, as needed. Clean up the downloads file on your computer. Create a folder for every company you apply to, and store the job posting, resume, and cover letter used.
3. Put all dates, times, and appointments in your schedule so you donât miss interviews or deadlines. Color code your digital calendar for ease and usability.
4. Block times in your calendar.
Life is about balance. Schedule everything in your calendar, including when you are working on your job search.
5. Take care of YOU.
Go for walks, get fresh air, exercise, read, prioritize sleep, schedule get togethers to look forward to (they can be free, like taking a walk).
đ Set yourself up for success, so that you arenât constantly spinning your wheels, overwhelmed and unproductive, even though you are spending hours a day on your job search.
