Conversations That Could Change Your Life
Lyfts, supermarkets, and other places for interesting conversations that could change your life...
✈️ Recently I traveled from NYC to Orlando to create a pretty darn awesome family holiday celebration, and I met a lot of cool people along my travels. Not accidentally, but because I initiated the conversations with my Lyft drivers, the drivers at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins, and the cashier at Publix.
🚙 One of my drivers was a recent transport from NYC, right near where I live, and this was only his 2nd day driving. (PS, he got lost. Even with Google Maps.) He was actively looking for an IT job and not nailing it. You can bet that this driver earned more than his 25% tip and 5 star rating, as I offered free coaching for him from the back seat. 😊
🏰 My Disney driver was a delightful older gentleman who had been working for the Mouse since 1971, 5 days before the park even opened! He was excited to share tales (not tails) of his experience, and it was fascinating to listen to.
🛒 At Publix, the cashier was inspired that I was bringing a family holiday to Florida; all the project management choreography, and when I went to compactly pack the groceries (for my next Lyft and Disney drives) she said, “you’re in Florida now. We do that for you. We got you,” with a smile, telling me she needed to see photos.
Of course, not every conversation is one worth repeating. I’ll spare you the details of the Lyft driver that showed me his photos from before his bariatric surgery. 😂 (TMI!!)
🍪 At Trader Joe’s I ask the cashiers about their favorite products. Last time, I was told about their flour, and how he has a side baking business. Cool! I had one once too. We shared baking tips!
Small or large, whether these conversations are life altering, or just mood improving for all parties in the moment, random conversations will have a positive impact on your well being, and maybe even your life. 💖
❤ Cindy
